Dr. Wanda Creel is an experienced educator, researcher, and administrator at the local, state, and national levels. Dr. Creel joined the District of Lee County team in November of 2017 as Chief Academic Officer after serving as superintendent in two Georgia districts for seven years. Wanda’s career includes positions as a state level Associate State School Superintendent for School Improvement Services, district level Assistant Superintendent, district Curriculum Director, elementary principal, middle school assistant principal, middle and high school teacher, and adjunct professor for graduate educational leadership programs. Her experiences in a K-12 arena and beyond bring a broad perspective to the field of school improvement and increased student achievement.
Dr. Creel is the recipient of the Johnny V. Cox Award in recognition of outstanding contributions in the field of Instructional Supervision from the University of Georgia. She has been named a finalist in the American Association of School Administrators for the Women in Leadership Award and was selected to receive the 2016 Lexington Leadership Award.
